    Wrap Up!

    November 23rd, 2009 — 9:47pm

It was a success! Cupcake Camp Adelaide went off without a hitch on Sunday afternoon with perfect weather. We had lots of people come along and enjoy cupcakes, have their faces painted, decorate mini cupcakes and have a great time!

Thanks to all of these people, businesses and organisations: The Book Boys, LeapWords PR, radelaide.net, Adelaide Tweet, RiAus and PPRAdelaide, Cupcake Treats, Fun For All, Christine Falk (for baking AND design!), Kristen, Alicen, Anne, Josh, Maria, Leila, Kerry, Chanel, Amber, Bruce, Becky, Vikki, Alex, Kay, Shane, Michael, Andrew, Karl, JM, Melinda, our two overseas donations, and everyone who was there at the Box Factory – THANKYOU. You all put in an amazing tireless effort, both contributing, helping out, donating and collectively baking over 400 cupcakes. Together, that is an amazing achievement – and that was only the first Cupcake Camp in Adelaide! You all deserve a huge congratulations and thankyou from everyone.

We have raised $1040 for Camp Quality and they are absolutely thrilled!

Congratulations to Anne for coming first in the cupcake competition, Chanel for second and Josh and Kerry for equal third. We hope you all enjoy your prizes (or in the case of third place which was two free cupcakes, *have* enjoyed)!

    Cupcake Camp Adelaide needs you!

    November 11th, 2009 — 11:56am

Cupcake Camp Adelaide is THIS SUNDAY!

I would like to thank the sponsors and people who have helped us out so far, and you can read about them in earlier posts:

    • LeapWords PR
    • The Book Boys
    • RiAus

We still need a few things and if anyone out there could help out it would be very very appreciated. Here’s a small list of things we still need to give you an idea:

    • Soft drinks/juice (preferably cans or small bottles)
    • Butter for kids decorating classes
    • Anyone who can do face painting (and has supplies) and wants to donate 2 hours of their time to us and the kids
    • If you have any little toys, stickers, pens, goodies etc to put into the goodie bags for the kids to take home

We have 10 bakers registered but we could use 1-2 more, so if you can help by baking cupcakes or bringing some along from a cupcake cafe, even if you can’t make it on the day, please let us know.

Thanks everyone for your support, see you Sunday!

    RiAus

    riaus

The RiAus (Royal Institution of Australia) have generously donated some goodie bags to Cupcake Camp Adelaide!

RiAus is Australia’s first national science hub, and it’s here in Adelaide! It was opened on the 8th of October in the old Adelaide Stock Exchange. The hub aims to make science accessible to a wider audience and has a special commitment to youth.

The goodie bags will help Cupcake Camp with setting up the Yellow Brick Road kids activity. Big thanks to the RiAus for supporting us!

    The Book Boys

    November 1st, 2009 — 9:37pm

    bookboys

With many thanks to local South Australian business the Book Boys, we have some prizes to give away at Cupcake Camp Adelaide!

They have generously donated us two Cupcake Creations kits to give away on November 22. Each kit includes a silicone tray, piping bag with five different decorating tips and a recipe book with lots of delicious cupcake ideas! It is a fantastic kit to get started with cupcake baking and also makes a great gift.

The Book Boys have a wide range of books, gifts and DVDs at great prices. You can find them at Harbourtown, Parabanks and Ingle Farm Shopping Centres. Pop into one of their stores and say hello – the staff are great and have lots of Christmas gift ideas!
